Mountain Bike disk brake sets
Are used to bring your bicycle to a stop quickly and efficiently and come in many formats, either being hydraulic disk brakes or mechanical disc brakes the difference being that:
Hydraulic disc brakes
Hydraulic disk brakes use a closed fluid system which pushes the brake fluid under pressure from the brake lever to create pressure in the brake hose forcing the pistons inside the caliper onto the disc brake rotor giving superb stopping power in all conditions, once they have bedding in from new you will find they are almost 100% maintenance free and offer superb wear to price ration in relation to the cost of disc brake pads and disc brake rotors.
Mechanical disk brakes
Mechanical disc brakes use a standard brake inner and outer cable configuration and unlike hydraulic where the fluid is pushed these brakes are used by pulling the cable using your brake lever so offer great braking and almost 0% maintenance as they have very few parts to go wrong. The benefit of mechanical disc brakes is that the initial cost to buy the systems is considerable less than the hydraulic version.
